The word “confidence” is of Latin origin. Con means “with,” fid means “faith” or “trust.” Confidence is about acting with faith and trust in our abilities and in the outcome of our actions.
The Bible says, “In the fear of the Lord, there is strong confidence.” (Proverbs 14:26)
God is the most powerful being in the universe. Faith and trust in God’s power and goodness toward us naturally increases our confidence in this life.
