In the modern world, they say “The way to take over is no longer through physical invasion. It’s through non-violent economic expansion and cultural soft power.” So we are all familiar with the concept of a “taking over” that does not involve physical force. No country would let a foreign enemy invade their land, steal their resources, and rob security from their hearts, but that is often exactly the outcome of these progressive, non-violent processes. It is the same way with our temptations, like lust, anger, greed. Our temptations and compromises may seem insignificant in any one moment, but the cumulative stakes are life itself.
