When we say PMO adds no value, we don’t mean it does nothing for people. Obviously it does something for people in the short term, otherwise no one would do it. However, the quality of a human life isn’t best measured by fleeting moments of sensory pleasure. If that were the case, people who ate the most sugary food, did the most drugs, chased the most thrills, and were the most promiscuous would be the happiest and most fulfilled.
As it turns out, many people have concluded, using mainly their own lives as evidence, that PMO is a value-subtracted activity in the medium and long terms. The only thing that gets screwed in the end is one’s life.
