Thinking is a neutral activity in itself. Just as negative thoughts produce painful emotions, positive thoughts pleasant ones. Worrying, for example, is a kind of negative thought process, whereas gratitude is a positive one; there is no limit to the expressive power of either. Sometimes the brain needs a break, but more often than not, the issue is one of negativity, NOT hyperactivity. Speakers, writers, poets, and intellectuals are known to use their thinking brain more than the average person, and this is not a negative thing in and of itself.
